Family of Santa Clara University student struck and killed by car while walking to class. wants traffic safety improvements

An 18-year-old Santa Clara University student was waiting in the median to walk his bicycle across the street along busy El Camino Real on his way to class. His father says a driver who was speeding, struck a tree. The impact caused the tree to go airborne and hit the student in the head. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. His devastated father wants traffic safety improvements in the area, including lowering the speed limit.
