Alameda County Board of Supervisors votes to fund Urban Shield another year

Despite vocal protests and hours of public comment, Alameda County Board of Supervisors has voted to continue funding for the Urban Shield emergency preparedness training drill hosted by the sheriff's office. Some say it frightens the community and negatively impacts communities of color.
