Former Oakland police captain injured in gun battle is now out of surgery and in stable condition

The former head of Ceasefire and retired Oakland police captain Ersie Joyner was wounded in a shooting at a gas station on Thursday, a source told KTVU. The shooting also claimed the life of another person, police officials said.
