Big rig carrying 50,000 pounds of lumber careens into Hollister house, sends truck flying into field
HOLLISTER, Calif. (KTVU) - A big rig carrying 50,000 pounds of lumber lost control in Hollister on Monday night, careening into a yard and knocking off part of a house porch and awning, video at the scene shows.
The big rig then hit a truck parked on the Fallon Road property near Grant Road and flew about 200 yards into a nearby field. The truck took out some crops and irrigation plumbing, witnesses at the scene told KTVU.
The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol. Hollister police and firefighters also assisted at the scene.
