Frank blogs about achieving goal
Frank blogged about achieving a personal goal.
Read his post here:
"There is no better feeling than when you achieve a goal.
My goal was to bench press 300 pounds by January 1st. And at 7:30 this morning I did it. Twice.
I work out at a place called God’s Gym in Oakland.
Gary Shields is the owner.
That’s him on the right.
Gary trains people three times a week.
And working with him is one of the best decisions I ever made.
My dad even works out there and he’s 82.
I was obsessing about hitting 300 all weekend.
I was determined to make it.
And now that I did I can enjoy the rest of the day.
There was only one problem.
I weigh 205.
One of the other guys maxing out today only weighs 145.
Yet he benched 310.
I was so ticked.
That little dude is strong.
We’re going to max out again at the end of January.
So my next goal is to do at least as much as he’s doing.
Can’t wait to give it a try.
What are your goals for the New Year?
By the way some people have questioned whether this is really 300 pounds. It is.
But it's also not a free bar.
Benching 300 pounds on a free bar would be a little more difficult.
There's also a greater risk of being injured.
And I'm 58.
The last thing I need right now is an injury."
