SAN FRANCISCO - A man on Thursday morning climbed the power lines above the Caltrain station in San Francisco, halting service for hours.
The man who appeared to be suffering a mental health episode could be seen standing on, sitting on, and at times violently shaking the lines as he spoke with negotiators below.
The man eventually slid and climbed down from the lines on his own around 9 a.m.
Police helped to subdue the man before he was strapped onto a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance.
Caltrain set up a temporary bus service to take riders to the 22nd street station.
The Caltrain service delays affected many commuters, including San Francisco resident Charlie Taylor.
Taylor uses Caltrain to commute to Palo Alto for work. He told KTVU when he arrived at the 4th and King St. station this morning it was packed and people were yelling.
So, he decided to make the most of it, turning the Caltrain station into a makeshift office.
"I had a couple urget things to do," Taylor said. "So, I set up my laptop here, next to Subway."
Caltrain resumed regular train service around 9:45 am.
