San Francisco resident gets creative to protect packages

SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) - San Francisco residents are going to great lengths to keep thieves from stealing their packages off of their doorsteps.

In addition to installing a video camera, one resident filled a box with dog waste and disguised it as a package.

Their surveillance video shows a man walking up to the door and grabbing the package. He then goes to smoke a cigarette and puts the package in his backpack.

The residents reported the theft and gave police the video. No arrests have been made.
