SFPD officer arrested following internal affairs probe
SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) - San Francisco Police Department officer Joel Babbs was arrested Thursday following an internal affairs investigation, according to police.
Babbs was charged with one misdemeanor count of false registration tabs and one misdemeanor o filing a false police report.
He was under investigation by the Internal Affairs Division in June 2017, stemming from a vehicle code violation that the SFPD was made aware of. When the investigation was completed, investigators sought a warrant for Babbs arrest.
He has been assigned to a non-public contact position.
