San Francisco ready for clear skies, fireworks and big crowds

The city's annual fireworks display on the waterfront is often obscured by fog. But that's not expected to be the case this year. The hot temperatures are making for clear skies this holiday. San Francisco is ready to put on a great show. Illuminate, the group behind the Pride lasers and Bay Lights, debuted the Aurora lights at the Ferry Building on the eve of the Fourth of July. The lasers will remain visible at night through July 7th.

Man who shoved woman into BART train, killing her, charged

A 49-year-old homeless man, who allegedly shoved a woman into an oncoming BART train from the Powell Street platform this week, was charged with murder and a special circumstance of lying in wait by the San Francisco District Attorney's Office on Wednesday. 

San Francisco benefits from housing law that streamlines approval

To address the state's housing crisis, California enacted a Statewide Housing Plan in 2022.  It says that every city and county must build its share of new homes to meet a total of 2.5 million new homes the state estimates it will need by 2031. San Francisco's part of the job is to build 82,000 units by the same deadline.

Thousands take to streets for final day of SF Pride

All across San Francisco on Sunday, thousands took to the streets to mark the final day of SF Pride. From the annual parade, to the festivities outside City Hall, and the dazzling rainbow flag lighting up Market Street, this year's Pride did not disappoint.

Dog, owner rescued from San Francisco cliff

A poodle mix and their human got trapped on a cliff overlooking the ocean at San Francisco's Fort Funston Sunday morning, and firefighters came to their rescue, a spokesman said.
