10-year-old boy grows hair out for 2-years to help cancer patients
WASHINGTON - For two years, ten-year-old Thomas Moore skipped getting haircuts.
But unlike most kids his age – Thomas had a good reason behind his actions.
After watching a video on Facebook about a young girl who lost her hair while battling cancer, Thomas decided to take up the cause to help.
Two years and three wigs later – he joined us to talk about his story!
INSPIRATION
Thomas said he was searching online when he stumbled across the video of a young girl who lost her hair during a battle with cancer. His mother explained to him that cancer was a disease and that some treatments can make you lose your hair.
Mom said that even though Thomas has a very sensitive scale, he made it through two years.
DOING IT AGAIN!
Thomas is going into the 5th grade – and even after doing so much to help – he is thinking about starting the process again.
"I feel like I can make a bunch of people with cancer happy by going them my hair," Thomas told FOX 5's Maureen Umeh Monday when he visited #GoodDayDC.
