2.8 magnitude quake strikes east of San Jose
SAN JOSE, Calif. (KTVU) - A 2.8-magnitude earthquake struck east of San Jose Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake struck at 6:37 a.m., was centered 9 miles east-northeast of San Jose and had a depth of 3.6 miles, USGS officials said.
There have not been any reports of damage. The temblor was on the Calaveras Fault, which last produced a notable earthquake in October 2007 when a 5.4-magnitude quake struck, according to the USGS.
