Accused ATM shoulder surfer in Capitola
Capitola, Calif. (KTVU) - Capitola Police are warning residents to pay extra attention when they are taking out money at ATMs.
Authorities released surveillance images of a man who is accused of peering over the shoulders of bank customers, and then trying to withdraw money from their accounts after they left.
Police have termed the man, a "shoulder surfer."
They tell the Santa Cruz Sentinel that he tried to steal money from an ATM at a Bank of America on Capitola Road on April 10.
Investigators say he drove a car that had a dented rear panel, and a paper license plate that read, "Oakland Honda."
