Arson suspected in Antioch with fire involving six separate structures
ANTIOCH, Calif. (KTVU) - Arson is suspected in Antioch following a fire that involved six separate structures, fire officials said Thursday night.
All six fires were within five to six blocks of each other near A Street and W. Madill Street.
The call first came in at 10:05 p.m. and was initially a 4-alarm call, but firefighters reduced it to a 2-alarm. Firefighters had the flames under control just before 11 p.m. according to Contra Costa County Fire Protection District Fire Marshal Robert Marshall.
All six buildings were abandoned. Three were residential structures, two were outbuildings and one was Acacia Cremation Services, where two previous suspicious fires have occurred, in June and in October, which caused the business to close its doors.
These fires are just the latest in a series of fires in Antioch on A street. This week there were two other suspicious fires, in a Dumpster pushed up against a florist and another fire at a church.
