Cat reunites with California owners after mudslides destroy home
MONTECITO, Calif. (FOX 13) - A California couple breathed a sigh of relief when they were reunited with their cat after mudslides destroyed their home.
Santa Barbara County Animal Services said the cat, Koshka, was reunited with the family on Monday after their teams checked their devastated property on a daily basis since January 9. The agency said when they arrived, they couldn’t safety access the Montecito property. Nearby fire teams told them they did see Koshka’s muddy paw prints.
On Monday, two ASPCA officers managed to get close enough to access a window, and found Koshka with fur caked with mud.
In an emotional video, the couple couldn’t thank the workers enough.
“She has amazing instinct,” said Koshka’s father, with the cat’s mother adding, “We can’t thank you enough we needed this.”
