Comedy legend Gene Wilder has died
LOS ANGELES, CA - Beloved Actor and comedy legend Gene Wilder has died at age 83. According to his family, he passed away due to complications from Alzheimer’s.
The comedian and iconic star of Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory and Blazing Saddles, was known for his characters who bounced between barely contained hysteria and gentle vulnerability.
He was twice nominated for an Oscar- once for his role in The Producers and once for co-writing Young Frankenstein with Mel Brooks, a frequent collaborator.
Wilder also co-starred with Richard Pryor on hits like Silver Streak and Stir Crazy.
He last appeared on the show Will & Grace in 2003, as the eccentric Mr. Stein- a role for which he won an Emmy.
It seems the only way to end this video is with a quote from Willy Wonka himself
“Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker.” Whoops, wrong one…
“Time is a precious thing. Never waste it.”
