Elderly man suffers life-threatening injuries in San Jose hit-and-run
SAN JOSE, Calif. - An elderly man sustained life-threatening injuries after a hit-and-run crash in San Jose Thursday afternoon.
Shortly after that crash, and just blocks away on the same road, a cyclist was injured in a collision with a driver.
According to police, the pedestrian who was hit first was walking in the area of Monterey Road and Montecito Vista Drive around 12:30 p.m. when he was struck by a car.
Police said the driver kept going.
Authorities have not yet provided a description of the suspect's vehicle.
In the second collision at 12:53 p.m., a woman on her bike suffered non-life-threatening injuries when she and a driver crashed on Monterey Road a few blocks away. The driver remained there and is cooperating with authorities, police said.
