Ex-NFL player Dana Stubblefield appears in court
SAN JOSE, Calif. (KTVU) - A Former 49ers and Raiders star, who is now accused of rape, appeared in Santa Clara County Superior Court on Friday morning.
Prosecutors say Dana Stubblefield sexually assaulted a woman who went to his Morgan Hill home in 2015, to apply for a nanny job.
They say the alleged victim was developmentally disabled.
But Stubblefield says the sex was consensual, and accuses the woman of trying to extort money from him.
His attorneys are also questioning her disability.
They say she ran an AVON business, and dealt with legal matters.
Prosecutors said that the woman was looking for a job, and that "she was unconscionably assaulted."
Another court date was scheduled for next Friday.
