Fire rips through Pittsburg pallet yard

PITTSBURG, Calif. (KTVU) - Flames ripped through a pallet yard in Pittsburg early Thursday morning, but as of 6:30 a.m. crews were able to get the fire under control.

The fire started just before 3 a.m. Thursday at Atlas Pallet Corporation on Industry Road. About a quarter acre worth of pallets and a couple of structures were burned in this fire.

When crews first responded they initially had trouble getting close to the fire because of a downed power line. They had to use ladder trucks to fight the flames from above.

Luckily no one was hurt in the fire.  A dog was found hiding out, but is reported to be doing OK.

Fire investigators are still looking into what caused this fire to break out in the middle of the night.
