Firefighters beat back grass fire in Concord, where temps expected to reach 103 degrees
CONCORD, Calif. (KTVU) - Firefighters on Monday battling a blaze that has burned about 25 acres in Concord and could be smelled as far away as Lafayette and Orinda.
The Willow Fire was initially reported by Cal Fire about 10:50 a.m. tore through the area of Willow Pass Road south of state Highway 4.
Crews with Cal Fire, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District and federal firefighters had the fire 80 percent contained.
Concord was expected to reach 103 degrees on Monday.
