Fremont shelter in place order lifted

Authorities have lifted a shelter in place after a garbage truck collected some hazardous material that resulted in the driver being hospitalized. 

According to the Fremont Fire Department, a chemical reaction occurred Friday morning after the driver picked up waste from a location in the 34000 block of Newton Court.

Fremont Fire tweeted, "If you are in the area of 34309 Newton Ct. shelter in place. Stay inside and close Windows." The fire department Tweeted video showing smoke coming from the truck.

The shelter order was lifted shortly after 10:30 a.m. The condition and the identity of the driver were pending.
