Hayward police chief placed on leave due to confidential personnel issue
HAYWARD, Calif. (BCN/KTVU) - Hayward Police Chief Diane Stuart has been placed on paid administrative leave over a confidential personnel issue, according to a statement from Sgt. Ryan Cantrell.
On Monday, the city manager appointed Capt. Mark Koller as acting chief of police, Cantrell said.
The following day, City Manager Kelly McAdoo released the following statement:
“At this time, I am asking everyone to respect the investigation process. I won’t be making comments regarding this personnel matter. Thank you for honoring this. The City of Hayward and the Hayward Police Department remain committed to making public safety our number one priority and our community can expect Hayward police officers will continue to respond to service calls as usual.”
