Homeless encampment discovered on top of Antioch Amtrak station
ANTIOCH, Calif. (KTVU) - A homeless encampment was recently discovered on top of the Antioch Amtrak station.
According to Antioch Police a citizen noticed someone who appeared to be homeless lowering a bike off of the top of the Amtrak Station. They reported the incident to police.
Police say an officer investigating the report discovered someone had set up an unsafe camp on the roof. According to Antioch Police, because of safety concerns the camp had to be immediately abated.
"Homelessness is not a crime and we try to get our homeless citizens into services so they can have a stable environment," said Antioch Police.
