Human Kindness: Men include boy in football game at Aptos beach
APTOS, Calif. (KTVU) - A group of guys took the time to notice, and include a little boy in their game at the beach.
Nina Ward posted about the day she spent at Rio Del Mar beach with her son Micah who she says has "different abilities."
Ward said there was perfect weather Thursday and they were having a great day with friends. That's when a group of men and young boys started playing football near Micah.
Ward posted about the moment when she saw Micah waving his arms in the air saying, "my turn, me, me," as the football was being tossed around over his head. Micah looked on in awe. The moment filled Ward with dread fearing her son would be disappointed to be excluded.
But that’s when something wonderful happened. “I sat and watched as they tossed the football to Micah! I watch the joy and excitement of being one of the guys radiate on his face! Then, one man actually took the time and bent down and showed Micah how to hold the football and throw it! Micah played for a good 20 minutes with these heroes as I will call them!"
Ward said it's a good reminder that we are all connected, and simple acts of kindness can have a huge impact.
