John Muir House in Martinez available Valentine's Day for weddings

MARTINEZ, Calif. (BCN) - A special destination is available this year in Martinez for couples who want to get married on Valentine's Day, Contra Costa County officials said. 

The John Muir House will be available for 16 couples who want to get married Feb. 14. 

County officials said the ceremonies will take place from 10:20 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. 

"It is with a great deal of local pride that we can highlight the history of our region and of Martinez while offering this memorable option for couples' special day," Contra Costa County Clerk-Recorder Joe Canciamilla said in a statement. 

Weddings will be held in one of the home's decorated rooms, which has an elegant chandelier, a grand piano, detailed architecture and a stunning backdrop with a view overlooking the home's property. 

The Italianate Victorian-style home was built in 1882.
