Man accused of exposing himself to runner on Mountain View trail

Erich Eminhizer, 38, is accused of exposing himself to a woman running on Stevens Creek Trail in Mountain View on June 12, 2019.

A man suspected of exposing himself to a woman running on a trail in Mountain View on Wednesday has been arrested.

The victim was running on the Stevens Creek Trail around 8:30 p.m. when she saw a man step out from the bushes.

The victim told authorities she was unaware of what the man was doing and kept on running.

After running a short distance, she started to feel nervous and turned around.

That's when she spotted the man walking slightly behind her.

As the victim approached him, the suspect pulled his shorts aside and inappropriately touched himself in front of her, authorities say.

The victim immediately called police.

Police located the suspect, later identified as 38-year-old Erich Eminhizer, as he was exiting the trail at Central Avenue.

Eminhizer was arrested and transported to Santa Clara County Jail.

Police are looking in whether he is connected to an incident on June 3 where a man tried to pull down a woman's shorts on the trail.
