Man arrested on suspicion of cable vandalism in Campbell
CAMPBEL, Calif. (BCN) - Officers have arrested a man suspected of vandalism causing more than $10,000 of damage to Comcast cables in Campbell, police said today.
Richard Bridge, 56, a transient, was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail Wednesday, according to police.
Bridge allegedly matched the description of the cable vandal and also was on probation for arson, and there was a warrant for his arrest on suspicion of drug-related crimes, police said.
The case began on April 28 and May 22 when two separate felony vandalisms took place in the area along the railroad tracks at Pollard Road and California state Highway 85, according to police.
The suspect cut the fiber optic Comcast cables and fled either on foot or on a black bicycle, police said.
Officers are trying to figure out whether Bridge is responsible for other cable vandalisms in the area, according to police. Anyone with information on the case should call (408) 871-5190, police said.
