Measurable rain to help battle against Valley Fire
LAKE COUNTY, Calif. (KTVU) - Rain has arrived in Lake County which is a relief to firefighters battling the Valley Fire.
As of Wednesday morning, the Valley Fire had grown to 70,000 acres and is 30 percent contained.
KTVU meteorologist Steve Paulson says there should be measurable rain at the site of the fire with 1/4 to 3/4 of an inch.
Steve says Mendocino and Marin counties will also get rain.
Light rain will fall in the East Bay and San Francisco Peninsula areas in the late afternoon, likely impacting the evening commute.
Highs Wednesday will be in the lower 60s and west winds will reach 5 to 15 miles per hour.
Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers in the evening. Lows will be in the upper 50s and southwest winds will reach 10 to 15 miles per hour.
Thursday will be partly cloudy. Highs will be in the upper 60s and light northwest winds will reach 5 to 10 miles per hour.
