Motorcyclist dies following CHP pursuit on Bay Bridge
SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) - A motorcyclist died Tuesday during the morning commute following a California Highway Patrol pursuit on the Bay Bridge
A severe traffic alert was issued just after 8 a.m. when the motorcyclist was injured on westbound I-80 east of Fremont Street in San Francisco, the CHP said. Firefighters said they performied CPR on the adult male, but he died on scene.
The CHP said that at 7:35 a.m. a CHP officer tried to stop the motorcyclist just east of the center anchorage for unknown reasons. The motorcyclist failed to stop, the CHP said, but "went down" shortly thereafter.
