One injured and 11 people displaced in San Jose fire

One person went to the hospital with burns, after a two-alarm fire Saturday morning at a residential complex in San Jose, authorities said.

Firefighters were called to the building at 600 South Ninth Street, at 5:24 a.m., said San Jose Fire Captain Mike Van Elgort.

The fire displaced 11 people at the 9-unit, 2-story building.

Firefighters were able to knock down the fire at 6:11 a.m., and bring it under control half an hour later.

The one person injured in the fire, suffered severe burns.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
