PG&E workers from CA no longer headed to FL
PG&E was planning to send 130 employees from California to help support Hurricane Matthew restoration efforts in Florida.
The workers were expected to leave from Sacramento on Friday morning. However, the mutual aid effort has been canceled.
The workers won't be heading to Florida because Hurricane Matthew isn't as strong as expected, according to a PG&E spokeswoman.
Hurricane Matthew was downgraded to a Category 3 hurricane overnight with the strongest winds of 120 mph just offshore as the storm pushed north around dawn, threatening more than 500 miles of coastline in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. A 107 mph gust was recorded in Cape Canaveral.
