Sheriff's office: 4 people killed at home in South Carolina
HOLLY HILL, S.C. (AP) — Officials say two adults and two children have been killed at a home about an hour from Charleston, South Carolina, and another child has been taken to a hospital.
Reporters were being kept away from the home just outside the town of Holly Hill in Orangeburg County on Wednesday.
Local media outlets report that officers were called to the home about 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Officials haven't said how the people died. Sheriff Leroy Ravenell was expected to arrive early Wednesday afternoon to brief reporters.
The brown, single-story house is nestled behind a stand of tall pine trees along U.S. 176. Across the highway is a cornfield. There are no other homes nearby.
The names of those killed haven't been released.
Holly Hill is about 60 miles northwest of Charleston, near the intersection of Interstates 95 and 26.
