Solano County deputy coroner can handle dead bodies, but apparently not snakes

She can handle dead bodies. But apparently, this medical examiner has a deep case of ophidophobia.

On Wednesday, Solano County Deputy Coroner Amy Thurau who her colleagues noted is "hard as nails and resilient to ANY critical incident, devastating crime scene or catastrophe," exposed her true fears. She's afraid of snakes.

In a viral video posted to the sheriff's Facebook page, Thurau is standing over a dead snake in the roadway. She repeatedly refrains from picking up the dead reptile with her plastic gloves, but eventually tosses it to the side of the road. To be fair to Thurau, the snake is pretty darn big.

In the background, her partner goads her. "Come on! You're a coroner," he says chuckling.

Though Thurau may have one hardcore job, her colleagues wrote in a Facebook post Thursday "We found ONE thing Deputy Thurau is not so comfortable with... snakes!"
