Some Oakland residents concerned after vandalism to speed limit sign

OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - Some residents are concerned after vandalism to a street sign.

The speed limit sign was changed from 15 miles per hour to 115 miles per hour.

The sign is located on Damuth Street near Lincoln just half a block west of Sequoia Elementary School.

Vandals used one piece of black tape, and carefully placed it to the left of the one on the sign.

Most will see it as a prank, but there are some in the neighborhood who say it poses a danger. They say the city should take action.

Penalties in California vary for vandalism cases depending on the severity of the case.
