Tanker spills 6,000 gallons of liquid asphalt on Richmond Parkway
PINOLE, Calif. (KTVU) - A tanker overturned on the Richmond Parkway, spilling 6,000 gallons of liquid asphalt, firefighters said.
Richmond Fire Battalion Chief Noah Bronlow said the accident was reported about 5:30 a.m. when the tanker took a left turn on the Richmond Parkway, or northbound Interstate Highway 80, onto Blume Drive in Pinole.
The offramp was shut down as hazmat crews cleaned up the liquid. Bronlow said one person suffered minor burn injuries. The tanker was towed away about 10:30 a.m.
He expected the roadway would reopen at noon.
