Teacher at San Jose private school arrested for sexual assault on student
SAN JOSE, Calif. (KTVU) - A 64-year-old algebra teacher at San Jose’s Harker Academy was arrested Thursday for an alleged sexual assault on one of his former students.
San Jose Police arrested David Graham at his place of work, which is a private academy and was booked at the Santa Clara County Jail.
Police say through an investigation, they learned on July 23, 2016, Graham’s female victim had told a friend about the alleged assault. The victim’s friend called police and a report was filed.
Detectives say the assault happened in 2007 when the victim was 13-years-old and that Graham used his position of authority to exploit the victim into a sexual relationship.
Graham faces a felony charge for sexual assault of a minor under 14 and a felony charge for oral copulation.
