Video of mouse running through produce at a SoCal supermarket sparks investigation
COVINA, Calif. (FOX 11) - A video of a mouse running across the produce section of a Covina market leads to a health department investigation.
You can see the rodent in the video scampering across veggies inside the ‘El Super’ grocery store, located at the corner of Arrow Highway and Azusa Avenue. This video was apparently shot Sunday.
It was posted on Facebook, and it quickly went viral. Users have shared it nearly 10,000 times, and viewed it about half-a-million times.
Officials at the County Health Department were notified and began an investigation.
El Super says it is cooperating with the investigation, and calls it an isolated incident.
The chain released a statement which reads in part: "All produce in the affected area was removed from the shelves and discarded, and the area has been fully sanitized. Any customer who purchased produce at this store location on August 7 may return it for a replacement or full refund."
El Super has nearly four-dozen locations in California. It has been locked in a long-running contract dispute with employees.
