Study finds possible cause, cure for Lupus

Scientists may have pinpointed the primary cause of Lupus. Researchers from Northwestern Medicine and Brigham and Women's Hospital say they have discovered a molecular defect that leads to the autoimmune disease. They say it's an imbalance of the type of T cells that cause cellular damage. Scientists also discovered that activating a specific protein can prevent the T cells from turning into disease-causing cells, which could pave the way for new treatments. Debate continues over smartphone ban in schools
