Richmond police investigating a string of shootings that occurred within 90 minutes
RICHMOND, Calif. (KTVU) - Police in Richmond were investigating a string of shootings that happened within 90 minutes late Sunday night but which do not appear to be related. No arrests have been made.
Lt. Matt Stonebraker described the rash of shootings as "stressful" saying that officers were racing to different parts of the city to help.
On Monday morning, officers had taped off the parking lot of the apartment complex at Potrero Avenue and 47th Street where yellow evidence markers were set up and dozens of bullet casings were found.
Stonebraker said two suspects arrived on foot, opened fire and shot one person. A neighbor said that a white Lincoln drove by and witnessed a man get out of the passenger seat, run toward the apartment and then he heard gunshots.
In another shooting scene, police were called out to the 2500 hundred block of Esmond Avenue about 10 p.m. near Wendell playground. Police said that two people were injured there and investigators are looking for a white van.
And then there was a third reported shooting on 1st Street, where people were taken to nearby hospitals.
