New Alzheimer's treatment clears FDA hurdle

A new drug for Alzheimer's Disease has cleared another hurdle to getting approval from the FDA. The agency's advisory panel unanimously recommended full approval of a new antibody drug shown to slow down the disease. The treatment from Eli Lilly called Donanemab, attacks a type of sticky plaque in the brain that leads to memory loss. If the FDA approves the drug this year, it will become the second on the market to slow down the progression of cognitive decline.

Researchers say marijuana has a stronger effect than ever before because current strains are grown to have more THC. Experts say that's increased the risk of cannabis-induced psychosis, which is becoming more common, especially among young men. Now, recent studies show it can trigger psychiatric disorders, such as depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

Survey reveals decline in job satisfaction

American workers are reporting unprecedented levels of job satisfaction, though the picture is mixed. According to the Conference Board’s annual Job Satisfaction survey, overall satisfaction rose slightly in 2023, reaching a record 62.7%, which is the highest since the survey began in 1987. However, this record high is tempered by declines across all 26 subcomponents of job satisfaction, as reported by nearly 1,700 U.S. employees.
